Middle East Forces [ Iraq Persia etc ] downed allied aircraft recovery unit. Amongst which were un opened packets of photo negatives of aircraft recovered. I processed the ones with aircraft that I could easily see. One I had professionally developed and printed. The rest of the negatives look like sand dunes at night, but will no doubt contain gems. Once digitally enhanced they will be amazing. There are the related movement orders, plus a mass of other documentation for 1942 /43 plus log book diary etc etc etc. After some research I have found that some of the aircraft are controversial crashes so these are definative photos from the day. 1886 P&O Captain\'s Silver Present Bit of a curved ball on this one. With Best Wishes to Capt. Orman - From The Ladies \" Valetta \" Christmas 1886 Captain Orman was the captain in charge of the P&O liner RMS VALETTA, she was out of London bound for Australia. One report from The Sydney News in 1886 talks of the tradition of Christmas presents being given to all the \' Ladies \' on board, from funds collected from the gentlemen. So it would be logical to think that the \'Ladies \' on board would have funded this magnificent case as a gift for their Captain. Thanks to my friend Alan \'The Oracle\' for the research.
